How to post a link  Reply with quote

Two ways of doin this....

Supposin we wanted to link to www.fhzaudio.co.uk ...Firstly you would need the FULL URL..... Then....
Type [URL] followed by the full web address, followed by [/URL], but do not leave any spaces. This would result in.....

code:

[url]http://www.fhzaudio.co.uk/[/url]

and would end up looking like this..... http://www.fhzaudio.co.uk/

Now supposin you want to post alternative text as the link. This time you type [URL= followed by ] , then type the text you want to appear as the link, followed by [/URL]
e.g.
code:

[url=http://www.fhzaudio.co.uk/]Tims web site[/url]

will result in... Tims web site

What is good, is that the text part is handled as per normal text.... so you can make it bold, underlined, or coloured.....
examples:......
code:
[url=http://www.fhzaudio.co.uk/][b]Tims web site[/b][/url]

Tims web site

code:
[url=http://www.fhzaudio.co.uk/][size=18]Tims web site[/size][/url]

Tims web site

code:
[url=http://www.fhzaudio.co.uk/][color=orange]Tims web site[/color][/url]

Tims web site

Notice that all the text decoration tags MUST fall between the URL tags.

But you can still go one better.... by posting an image as a link. Firstly you'll need to know how to post an image (see HERE for info)
So supposing we wanted to use the FHz Audio advert as a link. To do this just type the normal image posting text in the text space between the URL tags.......
code:
[url=http://www.fhzaudio.co.uk/][img]http://www.yorkshirecruise.com/Forum/templates/VereorMenInBlack/images/fhztopbanner.gif[/img][/url]

It looks a bit hardcore.... but its really just the URLs that make it sooooo long! Its actually just a URL= followed by an IMG section. Notice the IMG tags still fall inside the URL tags.

Which will then result in an image users can click on to follow a link......

Enjoy Wink
